A Health training institution which produces the middle cadre man power needs of the health care delivery system for the state and country at large through training, retraining, research and human development


To train and prepare human resources, that will fit into the health care delivery system at all level. Through accredited programmes and the advancement of knowledge and the development of requisite skills and it’s practical application to solve the health needs of the target communities this is done through the active participation of a vibrant team of academic staff.


Welcome to Kebbi State school of Health technology, Jega. The school was established and commissioned on the 9th October, 1971 by the police commissioner Usman Farouk, the then Governor of north western state. At that time only one cadre of training was offered i.e. rural health assistant, popularly known as Dispensing assistant. During the period 1971 to 1978, 394 candidates were admitted of which 330 rural health assistant completed and graduated.
In August 1978 it was upgraded to the status of school of health technology, in compliance with the order of Federal Ministry of Health Lagos. This development has now opened ground for training of mid-level health and medical workers.
